Venue Assistant

SOHOST: Our ethical values are sacrosanct; we are looking for someone with the same mindset and energy to grow with us. As assistant to the Venue Manager, you will work with a small team to ensure smooth running of our #CoWorking businesses and brands.
A hands-on approach, strength of character, sense of humour, interpersonal skills, extraordinary attention to detail, serious work ethic and a love of animals (we are dog friendly) are all essential.
ROLE: The role demands early start, excellent timekeeping, carrying, lifting, delivering and flexibility to assist with events that may occur any time of day and any day of the week, including evenings/weekends. It requires focus, strong logistic and social skills, self-motivation, calm firm persona, financial astuteness, administrative competence, organisational, IT / social media skills, a love of real food and a 100% commitment:
- Assisting Venue Manager in opening/operating/closing of venue, Monitoring and managing supplies, upkeep of the venue; appearance, IT and repairs, monitoring and encouraging recycling, meeting and greeting guests, maintaining a positive atmosphere in collaboration with team and guests to maximise value of the venue
- Assisting with Berwick Street Stall including incoming and outgoing deliveries
- Support for finance manager; invoicing, budgeting, stocktaking
- Maximising positive social impact, minimising negative environmental impact
- Updating websites, managing mailboxes and domains
- Promoting the brand and amenities through social media, print and PR
- Assisting with events
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Experience in logistics and coordination (hospitality, events, project and office administration) . Computer/technical skills including internet services, knowledge of Macs and PCs, strong Microsoft Office skills and solid typing speed. Demonstrable commitment to social/environmental justice; proven trust, loyalty and respect values associated with responsibility for a community.
3 MONTH TRIAL: £1,000.00 monthly retainer plus bonus subject to review and achieving objectives. If you are eligible for Santander funding, it would be a bonus, but this is not essential. We expect you to become a permanent contributor to the SOHOST Team; please only apply if you can
