Yard Assistant - Abellio Greater Anglia - Ilford

We have excellent opportunities within our Engineering department at Ilford Depot for two Yard Assistants.

Ilford Yard is a busy location, stabling, washing and preparing over 320 coaches per day serving the Abellio Greater Anglia service. You will work closely with the Yard Controller and maintenance team to ensure every arrival and departure is on time and presented in the very best manner. Clear, safety critical communications over the radio, face to face and over the phone are vitally important.

You have excellent communication skills and clear English. Good systematic skills are required to operate the depot signal and protection systems in a consistently safe manner. Excellent time keeping is of course important in the role. The procedures within the yard are migrating to a live computer system. Good IT literacy will therefore be required. Experience in Rail operations is not required, however qualifications to GCSE in Maths and English is preferred.
