Teaching Assistant Person Specification
This fantastic North London School is searching for a self-assured graduate for a KS2 general Teaching Assistant post to work in class ahead of a Primary PGCE or Schools Direct. Applicants who have ideally had recent experience working with Primary aged children and have the ability to show compassion to all pupils would be ideal for these roles and this school. You will need a desire to learn and develop your teaching skills in this school and be focused on a career in teaching. The staff in place are welcoming and very supportive to new starters, helping new staff to settle in and hit the ground running. A personable, outgoing and hardworking individual would thrive within this environment.


About the Role
As a teaching assistant you will be supporting a specific class in Year 5 based on your interests and experience. Part of your role will include contributing to pre-lesson planning and preparation and trying your hand at the extracurricular activities available. You will quickly learn that the Special Educational Needs Coordinator truly values your support, and will guide you throughout the placement in return. A SENCO will be assigned to help you develop the fundamental teaching skills and your role will require you to lead 1:1 and group sessions in class, supported and guided by an excellent teacher.
