Research Assistant/Associate in Machine Learning for Hearing Research
We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant/Associate to join the Machine Learning Group in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, UK. The position will involve research in direct collaboration with Dr. Richard Turner (Engineering) and Professor Brian C.J. Moore (Psychology) developing new methods for active learning with application to intelligent hearing tests. The researcher will be based in the Machine Learning Group which comprises about 30 researchers, including Prof. Ghahramani and Prof. Rasmussen who are advisors on the project.
Applicants should have a Ph.D, or be near to completion of a PhD, in machine learning, statistics, signal processing, information engineering or a closely related discipline. The following skills and experience are desirable: experience in probabilistic machine learning as evidenced by a publication record in the main conferences and/or journals of the field e.g. NIPS, UAI, ICML, AISTATS and JMLR. Experience in signal processing and hearing research, especially computational modelling or psychophysics would be beneficial, but not essential. Strong programming skills are required. Experience of working in a team and managing own work load is also important.
The salary range for a Research Assistant is £25, 023 – £28,982 and for a Research Associate £28,982- £37,768
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2018 (non renewable).
