Payroll Manager, Croydon, Salary circa £30k.



As a Payroll/HR advisor you will be a trusted and valued member of the HR team managing the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions. The HR Payroll/HR advisor will be principally responsible for managing the monthly payroll for 260 staff and associated queries relating to pay, sickness, maternity and various benefits. You will also have knowledge of general employee related queries.


So you’ll need excellent communication skills – which you’ll have used before to talk to customers over the phone or in person. A passion for Human Resources and the desire to learn and grow – is also necessary because that gives a foundation for the additional training we’ll provide.


Accountabilities


  • Input of employee data changes to the HR system (ADP Freedom) including new starter/leaver information, position, working hours and location changes

  • Supporting monthly payroll processes

  • You’ll process and issue P45s and P60s and accurately maintain records of new starters and leavers.

  • Complex technical payroll calculations regarding company and statutory sick pay etc

  • Miscellaneous payroll calculations as required

  • Additional project work including testing of systems configuration

  • Ad hoc reporting to the business

  • Legal aspects of payroll

  • Supporting Managers with employee queries and issues and advising on diciplianaries and grievances

  • Very good knowledge of SSP, SMP, AOE, advance pay, loans, leavers, joiners and P45 etc. is required with at least 1 years payroll experience

  • Support with day to day HR administration

  • Support recruitment, selection and induction for Contact Centre and Support business areas

  • Co-ordinate Assessment Centre, interviews and Academies including booking rooms, inviting delegates and follow up.

  • Coordinate and support all pre-employment checks (credit checks and references)

  • Manage the set-up of all new employee files and transfer of leaver files

  • Respond to queries in a timely manner (face to face, email and telephone)

  • Responsible for the administration of all HR documentation (scanning, filing and archiving appropriately)

  • Support the L&D team with coordination of training events

  • Ensure adherence to Data Protection requirements with regards to the security and confidentiality of employee data

Skills/Knowledge/Experience


  • Experience of working with payroll systems

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge with regard to relevant legislation and professional standards

  • Administration experience (ideally within HR)

  • Competent in MS Office (particularly Word and Excel)

  • Excellent customer focussed skills

  • Demonstrable communication skills, verbal and written

  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Discretion and ability to deal with sensitive information

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Flexibility and team player Experienced in using ADP Freedom/EZLM (desirable)
