Resident Medical Officer- Ilford


Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Resident Medical Officer to join a dedicated and professional Multi-discipline medical team at our North East London NHS Treatment Centre in Ilford. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills to support and delivery 24 hour quality medical care to NHS patients referred to the Hospital. As a Care UK Doctor you will have access to great facilities in a well-structured and relaxed environment.


At NEL we offer high quality treatment in oral surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, gastroenterology, urology and endoscopy. Our state of the art NHS treatment centre includes six operating theatres, 21 inpatient beds, 24 day-case beds and an outpatient/ pre-assessment department.


Our focus at all times is on ensuring that our patients receive high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Medical Director the Resident Medical Officer will be responsible for completing admission examinations, attend ward rounds, provide 24-hour medical services on an on-call basis working 12 hours shifts day and night. Other key responsibilities will include updating consultants on changing medical conditions of patients, following consultant instructions for individual patient care plans, perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant, initiate and alter in-patient prescriptions, write up take home prescription.


Skills Knowledge & Experience:

Applicants will be required to demonstrate a high level of skill in the following areas:


• A qualified Doctor, fully registered with the GMC
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) desirable
• Preferably have 2 years UK experience equivalent to that of a 2nd year Senior House Office
• Have relevant experience as per hospital requirements in general medicine
• Have good English skills – written and communication


Qualifications:

• UK registerable Medical Degree
• GMC Registered
