Job Purpose:

To provide leadership in all matters relating to testing quality assurance for the projects and programmes within a given portfolio. Provide a robust testing function that will support RM to the extent necessary in making any decisions whether to sign off solutions or not.

Key Accountabilities:

• Own the overall test approach for end-to-end application solutions and manage the execution of the testing. Including; Unit, System Integration, User Acceptance, Pre-Production, Volume, Regression, Penetration and Operational and Functional Acceptance test
  


• Define the correct and appropriate utilisation of testing tools for each project or programme
  


• Liaise with technical architects and technical leads for required technical support during the planning, execution and evaluation of the testing
  


• Ensure best practice test planning and execution by suppliers. Assure the output thereof.
  


• Understand the high level E2E business and technical requirements and intended implementation.
  


• Work with different internal technical groups and vendors to ensure sufficient test coverage and quality
  


• Act as single point of contact for the quality of the solution at any given stage
  


• Coordinate and arrange necessary test resources and infrastructure for testing
  


• Ensure projects and programme testing is conducted in line with the in house methodology
  

Key Dimensions:

• Define and facilitate formal sign-off processes for project and programme portfolios of £3-50MM +
  


• Line management of a small team, 2-3 direct reports
  

Key Competencies:

• Extensive track record within testing & quality assurance including more recent experience of Test Management on large integration projects
  


• A strong knowledge of testing methodologies, industry standards, and tools. Formal certification (e.g. ISEB) would be advantageous
  


• Core project management skills: planning, issue & risk management, reporting, co-ordination of resources, and financial management
  


• Knowledgeable in contractual acceptance and commercially aware
  


• Ability to mentor and support less experienced test resources
