United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Fundraising Officer


Job purpose


Working closely with the Campaign Manager in meeting the annual target of £500,00 in delivering projects to aid the need of our beneficiaries in Syria and neighbouring countries.


Main areas of responsibility


Community Fundraising


  • To co-ordinate local campaigns and fundraising/promotional activities and events alongside the Campaigns Manager.

  • To establish, build and maintain relationships with key contacts – including donors, volunteers, local community leaders, Masajids, churches, schools, universities & external organisations

  • To raise funds and awareness from and amongst: schools, businesses, community groups, Masajids, churches and the general public

  • To identify and research the local donor market’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and use the findings accordingly

  • To develop and motivate volunteers to support the work of the charity, and evaluate their impact

Events and Volunteers


  • To represent HCS at events in a professional and presentable manner, and do the utmost to promote HCS

  • To attend, promote & raise funds for HCS at any events organised by other organisations/persons

  • To engage and motivate our volunteers and recruit more volunteers to help deliver local fundraising activities and events

General


  • To investigate and implement new ways of increasing funds with the Campaigns Manager

  • To support seasonal fundraising and marketing campaigns

  • To keep abreast of changes in the market/environment and accordingly amend the UK fundraising plan and budget as and when required

  • To co-ordinate plans with other departments, key personnel and volunteers

  • To maintain an organised and accessible filing and documentation system

  • To securely log all donations and pledges accurately and ensure that clear records of such donations and pledges are maintained

  • To capture details of donors and accurately log onto the Charity’s database

  • To fulfill all obligations with regard to the taking of donations

  • To participate in meetings associated with the work above

  • To support the preparation of monthly reports with the Campaigns Manager

  • Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post

  • Degree or higher education qualification

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Hard working and self-motivating.

Desirable


  • Ability to speak multiple languages.

  • Fundraising experience

  • Knowledge of the Syrian Humanitarian Crisis
    Location: London office with UK travel when needed
