The Program Design and Development team plays a critical role in driving the strategic growth of our global partnership by delivering targeted increases in external funding. It is responsible for growing and diversifying our external funding base and increasing the overall financial sustainability of our country programs to deliver services for women today and tomorrow. It plays a pivotal role in deepening our capacity in programmatic strategy and technical design from a global to country level.


About the role


As a part of MSI’s Program Design and Development (PDD) team, you will support Sub-Saharan African country programs to develop dynamic and successful proposals for bi-lateral and multilateral donors, private foundations, charitable trusts, and host country governments. You will also play a key role in writing winning proposals, facilitating project design processes, engaging and positioning with partners, and building the capacity of MSI country programs to execute effective new business development strategies. You will work in close collaboration with MSI programmes in your portfolio of countries. You will provide support, mentorship, and capacity-building to NPD Advisors and the NPD Officer.


About you


We see you as having a background working in international program management, business development, program development or international development. Program design or management experience in international health and with bilateral donors is a must.


You will have coordinated and written major donor proposals for multimillion £ bids. You will have previously managed complex projects with multiple stakeholders to tight deadlines (both externally and internally). You also will possess a proven track record of developing and designing technical strategies for complex proposals, and in securing high-value contracts from donors, foundations, and trusts.


With a relevant Master’s Degree (MPH, MA, MBA) or equivalent; you will have outstanding English writing skills. You will also be fluent in professional-level French language skills.

Salary: £44.5-51k p/a
