My Client Primary School in the Bromley area of London is looking for strong graduates to work as Teaching Assistants for the rest of the Academic Year 2015/16. The positions will start in January. Excellent Teaching Assistant role for a London School. ( Graduate )

This London school is outstanding. Wonderful Teaching Assistant role. There is excellence in Academic terms -Very close to 100% of the pupils in Year 6 achieved the national average or above in the 2014 Year 6 SATs. 70% of these pupils achieved level 5 or above which effectively means they were working at Year 7 level. A very small percentage work at level 6. The London school is also renowned for it’s creativity with their pupils. A Teaching Assistant plays a very important role. There are excellent facilities for the students. The school has achieved multiple education awards. A Teaching Assistant will be an important factor in the contribution to achieving the Awards. You will need to be a recent graduate with a First or an Upper Second. The Graduate Teaching Assistant roles will be supporting the various teachers with Literacy/Numeracy in the mornings and the remaining curriculum areas in the afternoon. You will be expected to take one of the several after school clubs for two sessions per week. The basic hours will be 8.30am to 4.

The Head Teacher is keen to recruit graduates, as Teaching Assistants, for the remainder of the Academic year and then look to potentially put them through the School Direct programme in 2016. The school has a very strong relationship with a local University. Her view would be that several graduates will begin as Teaching Assistants and then become teachers, looking to be at the school for at least 3 or 4 years. In recent years three of my teaching assistants have been successful in getting on one of the School Direct Programmes run by the school.
