Applications are invited for a new post (at a Consultant Psychiatrist Grade) as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Centre for Dementia Prevention (CDP) at The University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will provide significant clinical and research leadership to the European Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia (EPAD) studies in the Edinburgh Trial Delivery Centre. The EPAD Programme is led academically by Professor Craig Ritchie (Director of the CDP). The University of Edinburgh is the managing entity of this pan-European, €64M IMI-funded research programme. The successful candidate will also hold an Honorary Consultant Contract within NHS Lothian and provide up to 2 days a week of clinical input to cognitive disorders services within Edinburgh.
Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh was rated 3rd in the UK in the 2015 REF and the successful candidate will join a growing team of senior academics and researchers dedicated to the prevention of dementia. The newly formed CDP brings together basic, clinical and social science under a single organizational structure to lead research into dementia prevention at a global level.
Applicants will have a strong track record in clinical research and experience as a Principal Investigator in interventional studies demonstrating excellent team leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will have an excellent publication track record and be able to demonstrate grant attainment to a level consistent with the post’s level of seniority. Candidates without a PhD/MD are welcome to apply but are expected to complete a higher degree while in post.
The post is full time and funded to December 2019.
This post is based in the Edinburgh BioQuarter, beside Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Little France beside the University of Edinburgh Medical School.
