Graduate Technical Operations Engineer- Video Advertising- £24k- London

They develop cutting edge technology to enable publishers to monetise their online content- this involves dynamic ad insertion into streaming television and video-on-demand content.


Thousands of publishers use their tools and they work with countless household brands to deliver their advertising to consumers in the most effective, captivating, and efficient way.


This is a graduate job with a starting salary of £24k and a potential 20% performance bonus paid quarterly.


A typical day would be:


There are never two days alike for a TechOps engineer; they deal with a wide range of technical challenges from every team in the organisation.


You’d start the day off by synchronising with all of the individual team leads to get a view of the priorities in the local office for that day. The rest of your morning will be spent investigating causes of technical issues that are ongoing or have arisen, this involves using your knowledge of SQL, HTML5, and JavaScript to debug their systems and test their publishers’ websites.


The afternoons are usually spent working directly with their clients and partners to integrate their ad-delivery technology into their websites or developing bespoke technical solutions for them.


You will also spend a lot of time liaising with their engineering teams based in the US, and to a lesser extent, their Belfast-based engineering team. You may also need to work closely with their product development team, acting as a liaison between product development/engineering and their account management/business development teams.


The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications:


  1. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate, ideally with a technical degree or a demonstrated interest in computers. 

  2. You will be a highly skilled problem solver of an inquisitive nature. 

  3. You are interested in web technologies and always eager to learn about subject areas you are unfamiliar with – you will need to get familiar with a highly complex piece of technology in a relatively short amount of time.

  4. You are able to communicate technical issues/solutions to individuals with varying technical knowledge in a language they understand.

  5. You understand the pressures and responsibilities of working within a team accountable to clients. 

  6. You will be expected to be attentive and prompt in your communication with both clients and internal teams so you should possess the time management and communication skills necessary to accomplish that.
