HR Administrator - 24 hours per week
Based in Mitcham, south London, with good transport links and parking, we are seeking a part-time HR Administrator, 24 hours per week (flexible). Salary is up to £24k (pro-rata). We are looking for proactive candidates who are team players and have experience gained working in an HR department, ideally for a private sector small or medium sized business. In this diverse role, you’ll have the chance to increase your HR experience whilst facilitating the smooth running of vital business functions.
You will be administrating the information of absence management, employee life cycle from start to finish as well as being first point of contact within HR for employees. You will also be assisting with the recruitment process and performance management of the company. We employ the services of an external HR consultancy to provide advice and support and you will be expected to liaise with them on relevant matters.
The role involves:
- Providing an effective and efficient HR administrative service and act as the first point of call for all HR related enquiries
- Taking ownership of the HR system and ensure all records are updated, including: new starters, job changes, benefits, training, non-holiday absences and leavers
- Monitoring new starter probation dates, ensure reviews take place and process all associated records
- Assisting with recruitment administration: record CV applications, making interview arrangements, process offer letters and conduct referencing
- Organising induction schedules and all on-boarding documentation for new starters
- Providing ‘self-service’ training to all new starters to ensure the system is used correctly
- Managing leaver processes
- Running regular reports through the HR system
- Producing contracts of employment, variation to contract letters, preparing documents associated with job changes, pay increases and benefits and other similar correspondence
- Advising and processing requests for Family Friendly leave, (Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental Leave)
- Assisting in preparation of payroll information and administration of the company Pension Scheme
- Providing managers with support in respect of the Disciplinary and Grievance process
- Administering the company performance reviews and appraisal processes
- Logging of appraisals, collation of forms and signposting any further action to relevant manager
- Providing ad hoc PA support to the Managing Director
Core attributes/skills include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and numeracy skills
- Working knowledge of day to day HR processes and procedures
- Experience of working with an HR system
- The ability to maintain confidential information
- A customer focused approach to problem solving and an ability to develop positive working relationships
- A knowledge or understanding of Employment Law. A relevant professional qualification, e.g. CIPD or studying towards this is not essential but this would be an advantage.
- At least 12 months previous HR related experience
