Senior Housing Support Worker (Weekends)



Work Relief Charity Recruitment is recruiting for one of the world’s most recognisable charities is looking to recruit a Senior Housing Support Worker for their South Ealing project – providing housing and independent life skills for young homeless people.


Our client specialises in the provision of support, guidance and housing with homeless young people, and we are looking for a Senior Housing Support Worker to lead a small team, providing housing and independent living support within a hostel environment.


Senior Housing Support Worker


Ealing, London


Weekends only – 16 hours per week


£10641.28 per annum (equivalent to £12.79 per hour)


Duties will include:


  • Responsible for the operational management of the functions which supports the residents

  • Management of the housing support officers and duty support officer ‘s team

  • Responsible for giving advice and assistance on everything from benefit claims to budgeting and accessing health care

  • Work to provide residents with the support they need to move on to accommodation of their own

  • Ensuring that interviews and risk assessment with prospective clients are carried out

  • Help in settling into the accommodation, help in maintaining the licence or tenancy

This would be the ideal role for a Housing Support Worker to take the next step in their career or for an experienced Senior Housing Worker to move into an organisation in the third sector.


Interested applicants must have similar experience of working in a complex needs environment within a residential setting.


Suitable candidates will have experience and/or knowledge in the following:


  • Possess solid knowledge and experience of housing and support with significant experience of working with young people in a Foyer / Hostel environment

  • Experience with those that have complex needs including mental health issues, substance misuse and offending behaviour.

  • Have a proven track record of being able to engage those that can often be difficult to engage

  • Be able to recognise indications of mental health problems, substance misuse, and offending behaviour to provide specific interventions,

  • Good working knowledge of housing and welfare benefits

  • Knowledge of implementing Arrears Policies

  • Knowledge of the Supporting People Quality Assessment Framework

  • Some experience of managing or supervising staff is a strong preference

  • Customers focused and committed to continuous service improvement
