Prison Law/Mental Health/Immigration Paralegal - London

We are a new niche firm currently seeking to recruit Paralegals specifically for Prison Law, Criminal Appeals, Immigration, Mental Health Departments.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

• Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases


• Advocacy on behalf of clients


• Dealing with correspondence


• Maintaining accurate time costing procedures


• Ensuring compliance with file management.

Key Skills Required:

The successful candidate must have:-

• A strong academic background with a Law degree (LPC desirable)

• Legal experience as a Caseworker/Advisor with an own client following (desirable)
• Demonstrate excellent client care skills
• Have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills
• Have an excellent work ethic, showing drive and enthusiasm for the work
• Demonstrate well developed communication skills both written and verbal
• The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast paced environment
• Excellent IT skills with ability to process information using relevant software (databases, spreadsheet packages)
• Business acumen

Duties will include dealing with indoor and outdoor casework for the department, attending clients, travel will be required, taking instructions, preparation for clients cases, dealing with correspondence, negotiating with relevant authorities, liaising with clients, file and case management all under supervision.

Training Contracts may be offered to candidates who comply with internal criteria and have passed their Legal Practice Course. The offer of Training Contracts are entirely subject to business needs.
