Platform Network Engineer

Overview

• Effectively contribute to the implementation and maintenance of highly secure and highly available networks for globally hosted payments solutions

Network Engineer Key Skills Required:

• Ability to maintain global networks to a high standard


• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure systems including: Cisco ASA/routing and switching infrastructure with a working knowledge of VLAN, VTP, STP, OSPF and BGP protocols


• Proven documentation skillsets around the areas of network design and operations


• Intermediate level of experience in F5 BigIP load balancers and Web Application Firewalls (LTM, Advanced Routing, ASM)


• Ability to create, modify and analyse Cisco ASA firewall rule sets


• Advanced level of TCP/IP network troubleshooting knowledge – Routing, Switching, Firewalls, SSL


• Experience in Change Control – System Upgrades, Procedures, Peer Reviews and Risk Assessment


• CCNP qualification

Role

• The Network Engineer will provide support and back-up to other IT Engineering resources as required


• Maintain up to date knowledge of PCI and other compliance requirements, industry security concerns including maintaining an awareness of Security and Bank / Financial Institution requirements


• Maximise network performance by monitoring the network and implementing


• Provide guidance to maintain and improve other internal systems


• Build and maintain networks for production and pre-production environments, including concise documentation


• Continually review and provide suggestions how to improve Platform Services network processes


• Proactively improve the security and resilience of operational networks for hosted production systems


• Contribution to overall Platform Services and the Company’s business process improvement


• Interaction with key members of management and staff to support business requirements


• Complete all reports (financial and non-financial)


• Comply with all company security policies and procedures

• Given the nature of the organisation and the environment, the role may occasionally require out of standard hours work to minimise downtime

All About You

The Platform Network Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining security focused global networks for hosted payment application systems. They must be able to demonstrate experience in the maintenance and ongoing support of networks in critical production and test environments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with VMware / vSphere Distributed Switch


• Strong understanding of network monitoring solutions


• Fault detection, resolution and troubleshooting


• Advanced level of experience in Network Security


• Experience in large scale, high availability, high impact systems


• Knowledge of PCI DSS including implementation requirements


• Experience with Configuration Management and related tools


• Previous experience with payment systems

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline


• CCNP/CCSP or equivalent experience
