£18,712 inclusive rising to £22,360 (after five weeks training) then £24,908 inclusive after consolidation of training

Here at London Ambulance Service we are looking for individuals to work as 999 call handlers (emergency medical dispatchers); ready at a moment’s notice to deal with emergency calls that can come from people of every nationality and background within Greater London.

If successful, you’ll join our highly professional team responsible for answering calls and co-ordinating ambulances across the whole of Greater London. Based at our emergency operations centres in Waterloo and Bow, the team takes around 5,000 calls every 24 hours—about a third of which are classed as life-threatening. So you’ll need to be a careful and accurate listener; someone who can assess information and clarify situations very quickly.

To be eligible for the role you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have had experience working to deadlines or targets, working collaboratively within a team and have customer service experience.

All applicants would need to be able to work a shift rota which covers days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
