We wish to appoint a part-time Research Associate to an ESRC-funded project entitled ‘Classroom Dialogue: does it really make a difference for student learning?’


The aim of the project is to establish whether or not a highly interactive, ‘dialogic’ approach to teaching helps to improve the quality of primary school children’s participation in classroom education and their attainment in curriculum subjects. To pursue this aim, observational data are being gathered in Year 6 classrooms in schools in southeast England.


Applicants must hold (or be about to complete) a PhD in Education, Psychology or another relevant subject, and have relevant research training and experience.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2017 in the first instance.
