Semi-Senior Accountant

Semi-Senior Accountant – £25,000 – £30,000 (Dependent on Experience) – Canary Wharf:

Our client is one of the leading accountancy firms in London that specialises in providing first class accountancy and tax services for Freelancers and Contractors. They are looking for a Part Qualified/Semi Senior Accountant to work in their busy Canary Wharf office.

They are looking for a candidate that has previous experience working in the contractors accounting industry or has a practice background. Candidates that have strong personal and corporation tax experience will also be considered. Depending on experience, this role will be fast track to a client facing role looking after your own portfolio. A candidate with a friendly personality and good time management skills is essential.

Responsibilities and experience will include:

• Preparation of financial statements for limited companies and LLPs


• Preparation of partnerships and sole traders accounts


• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns


• Preparation of year end accounts


• Prepare and file annual returns and dormant accounts to Companies House


• Personal, corporation and partnership tax return preparation


• Liaison with clients and HMRC to resolve relevant queries


• Managing a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies


• Maintaining and developing client relationships including conducting face to face meetings with clients

The ideal candidate must have the following:

• A minimum of 2 years previous experience working in the contractor accounting industry or a practice background.


• Hold or be working towards ACCA / ACA qualification.


• Good knowledge on payroll and P11D


• Knowledge of IR35


• Knowledge of Iris Open Books / Free Agent is preferred but not essential


• Good verbal / written communication, inter-personal and customer service skills are essential.


• The ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as an effective team member are essential.
