We are looking for an experienced Unit Manager to join our progressive team at St Vincent’s in Hammersmith.

The Home
Opened in 2006, St Vincent’s House is a modern and elegant purpose-designed care home in Hammersmith, west London.
The four-storey home has a smart ‘townhouse’ appearance, with attractive brickwork and decorative Juliet balconies.
Residents’ rooms are bright, spacious and very comfortable. Each room features en-suite facilities, stylish furniture, phone and television connection points and a 24-hour nurse call system. Some of our rooms offer pleasant views over our grounds.
Each of our four suites has its own dining room, lounge and quiet room. Throughout the home you’ll also find a sensory room, two activity rooms, an art room, a quiet room, a library and a hairdressing salon. Our light-filled conservatory is a great place for residents to socialise or relax and we also have a kitchenette which residents and visitors can use.
Our attractive grounds include a memorial garden where residents’ families have donated plants and solar lights to remember their loved ones. The home and grounds are fully wheelchair accessible. Also based in our building are the Hammersmith and Fulham community mental health team for older people and a day centre run by the Alzheimer’s Society.

Key Responsibilities

•You will be a qualified and experienced nurse (RGN) who has a proven track record
•You will provide leadership within the clinical team and be a nurse that leads by example and acts as a champion for resident’s safety and dignity.
•To maintain skills and knowledge and be a champion for ensuring the team is fully up to date with best practice guidelines
•Be a supportive mentor to the wider team in regards to upskilling non clinical staff and supporting new members of the team.
•Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used
•Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice


Skills & Experience

Experience of working with older people is required as are excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to plan, allocate and delegate work appropriately


Qualifications

RGN is essential along with evidence of PREP (Post-registration Education & Practice).
