The role:


To achieve sales income and targets as agreed for existing allocated customer portfolio, spending the majority of time visiting new and existing customers.


It is anticipated that you will spend 4 days per week visiting customers with an average of 2 visits per day so you should be flexible to travel and working hours.


To achieve agreed sales income and targets within own portfolio of accounts and overall objectives.


Responsible for:


  • Selling the whole range of products within existing customers at all levels of the organisation to support their business requirements and grow turnover for the organisation, providing curriculum advice as an aid to selling products.

  • Expanding the knowledge of existing customers of the whole range of products offered to increase the sales potential.

  • Building and maintaining relationships in order to meet sales targets within identified accounts.

  • Deliver new customer accounts in specific markets that meet the quality assurance guidelines to meet revenue targets as agreed with Director of Business Development.

  • Achieving the income targets with customers within the long-term relationship building ethos and values of the organisation.

  • Attend networking events in specific areas as agreed to raise profile of the organisation and feedback intelligence.

  • Sharing relevant knowledge and intelligence of changes in FE funding and other external policy drivers.

  • Producing the reports required to show monitoring of customers and sales tracking including using CRM and in-house databases.

  • Record and track details of minutes of meetings with customers and follow up of actions from visits on CRM.

  • Follow up on leads generated undertaking customer visits as appropriate, working in conjunction with the Business Development Officer.

  • Providing Director of Sales with weekly updates on activities, including monitoring of sales management aspects such as appointments per week and outcomes.

  • Willingness to travel for the majority of the working week and work on a flexible basis of hours.

The candidate:


  • Experience of working within a high performing sales team

  • Knowledge of awarding bodies and regulatory structures

  • Skills in Microsoft applications and CRM systems

  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet targets with tight deadlines

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior managers in a range of organisations

  • At least 2 years’ successful experience of sales, business development or relationship building with tangible outcomes, preferably within the education sector
