About the role


Marie Stopes International has a permanent Programme Officer opportunity in our West Asia department, based in London. This role will facilitate effective project management, financial and narrative reporting and compliance, as well as contribute to the development of strategies to improve capacity in our country programmes.


The role covers a broad range of growing programmes from the large and well established to the smaller, lower capacity programmes. They are funded by a range of institutional funders.


This post holder will also have the opportunity to play a key role in a regional strategy across the Sahel implementing family planning into food security and livelihoods programming.


As the role has a programme focus, you will be the lead between head office (London) and the country programmes, ensuring they have the support required. You’ll have exposure to working with consortiums which MSI lead on and be the connection point between our London office, country programmes and our donors, ensuring a smooth flow of information.


About you


We see you bringing to the role strong reporting experience, ideally with experience of working in an overseas location (preferably a developing country), knowledge of donor regulations, grant management, processing, policies and procedures.


  • Demonstrated administrative, finance and programme management experience

  • Experience of working in an overseas location (preferably a developing country)

  • Knowledge of United States, Scandinavian, British, Dutch, German government and Foundation donor regulations, policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of the provision of reproductive health care (including family planning methods and the safe abortion) in the developing world is essential

  • Post-graduate qualification in public health, international development, public management or related field (desirable)

  • The ability to travel extensively (up to 3 months per year)

Salary: £32.5 – 38.2 k p/a
