Analyst





A London-based research and consultancy firm focused on the Middle East, is seeking to hire an Analyst.


A recently-established research and consultancy firm based in London is looking for an Analyst to integrate into its research team. The successful candidate will conduct in-depth research, writing and analysis on a wide range of Middle-East related topics, as well as global developments relevant to regional stakeholders. Salary is negotiable and will depend on experience.


Eligibility:


The ideal candidate would:


  • Be fluent in English and Arabic. Fluency in another relevant language is an advantage.

  • Hold a university degree in Middle Eastern politics, international affairs, history, economics (particularly political economy), or another relevant discipline.

  • Have extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern politics and current affairs. Detailed knowledge of regional economics is a definite asset.

  • Have at least 1-2 years of professional experience as an analyst/researcher on the Middle East.

  • Possess strong research, writing and editing skills, as well as strong attention to detail.

  • Show advanced analytical skills and a capacity to master new topics quickly.

  • Exhibit good organizational skills, with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a team.

  • Be eligible to work in the UK. This is a strict requirement.

In the role you would be expected to:


  • Conduct in-depth research, both individually and in cooperation with other colleagues.

  • Write and co-author a variety of reports and analyses, with a particular focus on political economy.

  • Reach out to sources and coordinate with network of contacts.

  • Assist with assuring the integrity and objectivity of analyses and interpretation of events and information.

  • Participate in team discussions about relevant developments, events and future trends.

  • Help exercise strict quality control over our products, ensuring information is edited and presented in accordance with our established style guide.

  • Follow and keep up to date with specific regional developments and countries.

  • Commission contributors.

  • Assist with the development of the company’s database and research tools.

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our products and services by joining brainstorming sessions and pro-actively contributing new ideas and solutions to the challenges presented.
