Finance Officer

Salary: £26 – 32K

If you are an enthusiastic and willing Finance Officer, we have an exciting opportunity for you to develop your finance and accountancy career and join our team as soon as possible.

In this important role you will be working closely with the Finance Manager, reporting into the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Office. The Finance Officer will be the first point of call for any enquiries from staff or parents with financial queries. The individual therefore needs to be courteous and be confident dealing with strong personalities.

The Finance Officer will work under the direction of the Finance Manager, but will have devolved responsibility for the Purchase Order System (Compleat or similar), Parent Payments (Wisepay or similar), Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and the compulsory meals package for students. The Finance Officer will also deputise for the Finance Manager in their absence.

Whilst some knowledge and experience of the education sector would be an advantage, it is not essential. Applicants should be working in a financial role at present, and would preferably have a customer facing role. A recognised accountancy qualification would be desirable, but not essential. Applicants currently studying towards an accountancy qualification are also encouraged to apply.
