A native English speaking live-out Governor / Governess is required to look after two Russian children, Girl aged 10 and Boy 4, based in Knightsbridge, with frequent travel to Moscow and elsewhere. This is a shared-care role; the Governor / Governess will be sharing care responsibilities at all times with either the Mother or with a Russian nanny. It is a fully staffed household so this is an entirely child-oriented position with no responsibility for cleaning, laundry or cooking. Regular travel is required during the holidays to Moscow, Italy, France and other locations. Candidates should be ready to commit for at least 1 year, with an initial trial period of 3 month to check that all goes well. Candidates must have own accommodation in London – accommodation abroad would be provided as required. Schedule 5 days a week 8 hours a day, work hours 7-9am and 3-9pm each day. Occasional weekend work and extra hours are possible. 1 month paid holiday per year. Salary £1000 per week. Start ASAP.

Getting the children ready, taking them to school and picking them up (with a driver)
Liaising with teachers over school arrangements, and over academic progress
Serving meals and snacks to the children (not cooking)
Overseeing homework and giving informal help wherever required
Reading with the children every evening to improve their English
Initiating and overseeing fun activities such as art, baking, crafts etc
Finding and purchasing resources for kids’ activities
Taking the children for walks, trips to the park, bike rides etc so they get time outside
Taking the children swimming regularly (to pool in the apartment block)
Making arrangements including booking tickets for cultural trips, theatre, museums
Managing the kids’ schedules and ensuring the family calendar is up to date with all trips, activities and school commitments
Overseeing the behaviour and discipline of the children
Encouraging independence in the children Profile:
The ideal candidate will have worked as a Nanny / Governor / Governess before and will be comfortable working in a high net-worth, fully staffed household
Native English speaker
Can be male or female
Energetic (!) and happy to play with the kids as the second nanny is much older
Bubbly and able to form a good rapport with the children
Authoritative and confident in terms of managing the children’s behaviour
Passionate about learning and eager to inspire and stretch the children when it comes to their reading and interests
Comfortable with care duties including bed-times and bath-time etc.
Flexible with changes to hours and willing to travel at short notice (!)
Organized and efficient
Driving is not essential as the family have drivers, but may be useful
Must have own accommodation in London – accommodation abroad would be provided as required
