Results: GCSE 70% 5+ A*-C

We are looking to recruit a History teacher to work in an ‘Outstanding’ mixed Academy in Wandsworth. The school are looking for someone who can deliver History curriculum to KS3/4 and 5.


The History department are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and committed History teacher to join their successful department. History is a core subject at KS3 and a popular GCSE choice; they currently have 8 classes between year 9 and year 10. The popularity of History at KS5 is growing with two groups currently studying A-Level History.


In August 2015, 70% of students achieved A*- C with 22% of these students achieving A*-A. In August 2015 40% of students achieved A*-B in their AS exams with 30% of students achieving A*-B in their A-level assessments.


The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate consistent high-quality teaching, in-depth subject knowledge and a commitment to collaborative work. They will join an experienced department which benefits from having staff who have taught in a range of schools in London. Resources for all key stages are pre-planned and shared electronically; enabling staff time to differentiate resources for mixed-ability groups.

If interested in this role you must have the following:


– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.


– PGCE in History or degree level equivalent


– Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4


– Experience in a secondary school within the last two years


– Excellent subject knowledge


– Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
