Learning Disability Support Workers - Jamores Homes - Greenwich

Jamores Homes are looking to recruit Support Workers for their newly registered Home in Greenwich. Ideally the company is looking for suitably qualified people but would also consider those with transferrable skills. To work as part of a team, supporting children/young people with learning disabilities and complex challenging behaviour and communication difficulties. The role will play a fundamental part in the delivery of the service’s challenging behaviour pathway.This is a great opportunity to start in a new home.
The post holder will offer intensive interventions to children/young people with challenging behaviour and their families, working closely with education, social services, other health and social care professionals.
Responsibilities

• support clients to live as independently as is reasonably possible and to make informed decisions

Requirements

• At least 1 years’ experience in Learning disability


• At least NVQ 3 or willing to work towards it


• Good report writing and verbal skills


• Experience with supporting clients with challenging behaviour


• Reliable and honest


• Must have patience and understanding and be able to show empathy towards people with learning disabilities


• A good understanding of safeguarding and its processes


• Good interpersonal skills and personality


• Being able to work as part of a team
