Professor of Psychology

The Professor of Psychology will provide professional and academic leadership in Psychology. This will include significant contributions toward the fulfilment of the University’s research and knowledge exchange agendas to include taking a significant role in leading both the establishment of a vibrant research and knowledge exchange community in the School and in the preparation of a strong return in the next Research Excellence Framework audit.                                                                                                                               

The postholder will also support the further development of a high quality portfolio of taught programmes in and related to Psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level accredited by appropriate PSRBs, and contribute to teaching, learning and assessment in areas related to their specialist expertise in Psychology.

We welcome applications from candidates who have a PhD/Professional Doctorate in Psychology or closely related area of study or an equivalent academic or professional qualification. Applicants should also have a track record of high level international publications (rated as at least 3* in the REF) in an area of psychology and of attracting external income for research, together with experience of contributing to institutional strategic goals.
