SALARY ETC:


£34,205 to £43,271

SUMMARY OF JOB:


Working as Senior Staff Nurse you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of the patient.


In the absence of the senior sister, or charge nurse the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management of the unit including supervision and deployment of staff.


The post holder has responsibility and accountability for maintaining both clinical and staff governance and to support the senior sister and charge nurses, and deputise in their absence.


The post holder, in the absence of a charge nurse, has management responsibility for all beds or chairs in the unit with which the post is contracted to.


Ensure individualised care plans are in place for patients in your care the designated clinical area. When co-ordinating the shift ensures others have completed this for their patients.


To maintain accurate patient records and educate staff members in relation to the importance of documentation


Ensure the patients to be readmitted are rescheduled and booked according to the correct procedure and in accordance with the written guidance of the unit


As a member of the senior team support the compliance of all staff with infection control standards and relevant care bundles to the department


Lead, support, counsel junior grades of staff to support development needs and contribute to a cohesive multidisciplinary team approach


Maintain up-to-date clinical skills and knowledge for delivering care to the identified group of patients e.g. direct clinical / bedside education for equipment training


REQUIREMENTS:


NMC Registered Nurse


Assessing & Mentoring qualification


Relevant courses / experience


A flexible approach to work


Willing to support others


Ability to work internal rotation (details of shifts and days available on application, as well as full job details)
