Team Leader for Science Department
Lead Teacher of Science required for September, or sooner
Salary: MPS/UPS equivalent + TLR (Negotiable for an Outstanding Candidate)
From September 2016, or earlier if possible, the school wish to appoint an ambitious and committed Lead Teacher of Science, taking responsibility for a large successful and thriving Science Department in an 11-19 multi-cultural and highly motivated school.
Expectations are high for all pupils and both staff and pupils are warm, open, supportive and proud of the school.
Purpose:
*To lead the subject curriculum at KS3 to KS5 to ensure excellent standards of student achievement within the whole curriculum area.
*To lead on one whole school teaching and learning priority with guidance and support from the Deputy Headteacher.
*To be accountable for student progress within the curriculum area.
*To coach, develop and enhance the teaching practice of others within the Department.
*To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students within the Department studying in accordance with the aims of the school.
*To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the Department.
The Department:
*is located in a suite of newly refurbished science laboratories offering a dynamic teaching and learning environment
*is well resourced with interactive white boards
*achieves high standards at KS3, KS4 and KS5
*is staffed by dedicated, supportive, high quality teachers and technicians
