The is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Human Development with a strong track record in research and teaching, to teach on our BA and MA programmes in Social Work.
You will be responsible for:
– teaching and assessing both undergraduate and postgraduate students, using appropriate instruction methods such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, mainly in the area of human development
– acting as Academic Adviser to a cohort of students, including some field/practice placement visits
– participating in the administrative processes of the institution including attending team meetings, committees, quality assurance procedures, recruitment and admission of students and representing the institution on or to appropriate external bodies
– developing/undertaking relevant research, and other forms of scholarly activity, at a postdoctoral level
– supervising PhD students.
You should have
– a first degree in a relevant area (e.g. psychology, education)
– a Doctorate in an aspect of Human Development
– experience of teaching in higher education.
Post-graduate teaching education is provided for those without a formal teaching qualification.
