iguacu (igwah-soo) is a non-profit start-up established to make it quick and easy for the public to give effectively where there is large scale suffering in the world. An independent social enterprise, iguacu provides through its platform, weareiguacu.com, a world class expert-led service across seven countries and counting. At the start of our second year, we now seek to spread the word!
We are seeking an expert to drive action to the iguacu platform and build a large engaged community that loves iguacu, routinely donates, and shares iguacu with friends.
iguacu is truly agile, responsive and user-centred. We are in the midst of redesigning our platform in response to use feedback. Our Digital Fundraising and Marketing Executive role presents the right person with a wonderful opportunity to be part of building a successful and inspiring global brand from its early days, to devise and execute a strategy without bureaucratic constraint, and to see each day and over time the direct impact of their work and ideas. They will join a small, international, highly skilled and results-oriented team, and enjoy a culture that is open, positive and fast-moving.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. It is a full-time position, however there is flexibility around the working hours, and with the possibility to work one day a week from home/remotely. The initial contract term is for 18 months.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO, the Digital Fundraising and Marketing Executive will:
Draft, execute, and continuously review a user-centred digital marketing strategy, that adheres to iguacu’s Governing Principles, and is aligned with iguacu’s evolving Communications Strategy
Become our community champion. Through ongoing donor research, develop, and respond effectively to, an excellent understanding of what our audience needs and values and what would prompt them to act on iguacu. Work with the iguacu team to ensure that iguacu’s platform (the website services and social media) and any other external online communications all respond effectively to target audience feedback and attract a growing engaged audience that routinely acts through iguacu. Help shape the content of the team into compelling posts, tweets, video scripts and blog pieces. Continuously monitor and report the level of success and engagement of outputs. Share best practice.
Develop and continuously review iguacu’s digital marketing channels in accordance with the digital marketing strategy and target audience actions and feedback. We want our target audience to learn about and love iguacu, visit often and share iguacu with others. Develop the voice of the various channels. Produce detailed analysis, testing and regular reporting on all digital marketing and communications activity.
Forward plan, devise and execute innovative digital campaigns and services, drawing on iguacu’s services, strengths and expertise, and tailored to our target audience’s needs and preferences.
Effectively utilise the requisite targeted free and low cost digital tools and advertising appropriate to our target audience to build online revenue stream. Monitor ROI and react accordingly.
Under the supervision of the CEO, manage the allocation of a budget across all digital marketing channels in order to maximise income. Monitor ROI and react accordingly.
Manage the day to day relationships with all external actors relating to online channels, digital marketing and fundraising, including the Communications point person at all our recommended organisations.
Keep up to date with industry innovation and development, testing new channels, content and messaging where possible to ensure that the correct mix is implemented, tailored to our target audience.
Keep up to date with the main news of the countries we cover and to be aware of the forward calendar of events.
Project manage specific web and digital projects that arise
Requirements
Successful track record in building and driving a large engaged donor community around a brand and converting them to donors.
Proven track record of income generation via digital channels (PPC, SEO, Google Tracking, CPC, SEM etc).
Proven ability to build engaged communities on social media.
Expert knowledge of all the major social media tools.
Dedication to delivering user-centred services, becoming the voice of our community.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills and extensive experience using digital analytics tools and metrics (ROI, CPC, CTR, CVR, Bounce Rates, Unique visits, Rank etc.).
Ability to develop compelling AIDA strategies that converts visitors to action-takers.
Extensive experience of Google Ad Words, Google analytics, social media analytics and CMS.
In-depth understanding of the principles of brand strategy.
Drawn to iguacu’s mission and vision.
First rate communication skills, including the ability to write and edit compelling copy from tweets and news clips to blog pieces and video scripts.
Effortless connector and builder of relationships.

Educated to degree level.
Interest in international affairs and humanitarian issues.
Self-starter, driven, can work equally well independently and in team collaboration.

Fluency in English.
Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
Distinct advantage if you have the following: Knowledge of WordPress and WordPress analytics; Knowledge of email marketing and newsletters and market research methods.
