Ruby on Rails Developer - UK's largest Food Delivery App

Our client, one of the food takeaway app start ups in Europe, and are currently going through substantial growth. They are now looking to hire a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer.

It is a greenfield project for which they are seeking top tier professionals. The CIO is very ambitious and is changing entire internal infrastructure to make the organisation one of the most forward thinking digital companies in the UK. Our client is looking for someone experienced with web services written in AngularJS or Rails, as they’ll be building a web-based platform and api.

Ideally you have a BA/BSc/BEng in computer science, physics, electronics or a related discipline, though there are always special cases and they’re open to that.

Our client’s services will be hosted in the cloud, at least for the time being. If you have experience with services like AWS or Heroku, would be of advantage to you.

REQUIREMENTS for Senior Ruby on Rails Developer Position:

• Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software.


• Professional experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails (2+ years)


• Experience with TDD environments (RSpec, Minitest, Capybara, Selenium)


• Experience with relational databases (PostGreSQL, MySQL) and key-value stores (Memcache, Redis)


• A relentless desire to satisfy every customer’s palate.


• A sense of humour.


• A stash of Kangaroo GIFs (Cat GIFs tolerated).

Nice-to-have forfor Senior Ruby on Rails Developer Position:

• Experience with web architecture at scale (10krpm and above).


• Experience with PostGIS, or any geography-heavy applications.


• Experience with “NoSQL” data backends (Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch).


• Experience with logistics.
