ASSISTANT MANAGER - CLAIMS PROPERTY





My client a London-based loss assessor specialising in providing a complete service including building reinstatement work and claims and currently have a fantastic opportunity for an asistant manager on their claims team.


The Role of Assistant Claims Manager


• Full time permanent role – office based
• Prepare cost schedules of building work for submission to insurers on bespoke software
• Submit the claim to insurers by email, recommend a reserve, notify of any alternative accommodation
requirements
• Arrange for insurers to appoint loss adjusters to deal with the claim and to meet with the company’s surveyor at
the client’s property
• Negotiate the scope of works and costs with loss adjusters to settlement after the site visit
• Provide updates to clients during the progression of claims and deal with client concerns / queries on what is
covered and what is not covered under the claim
Training Provided
• Office training on how to set up claims and negotiate with loss adjusters and insurers on building costs, validation
and liability
• Office training on insurance contracts and what the insurer’s obligations are followed by formal written test


Background and Required Skills of Ideal Candidate


• Knowledge of building costs and how to put together a scope of works
• Experience of the process to deal with property insurance claims from notification to settlement which will have
been acquired in a claims management company, an insurance network repairer or a surveying services arm of a
loss adjuster
• Ability to communicate clearly and argue a case for what building repairs are needed
