Casual Family Support Worker - Spurgeons - London
Spurgeons is a large charity that works with children, young people and families within the UK and is committed to delivering high quality, integrated services to children, their families and the community.
Spurgeons is responsible for eight London Prisons Visitors’ Centres with an emphasis on working towards positive outcomes for children and families. We are looking for enthusiastic, imaginative individuals experienced in working with children and families to join our teams.
You will be a highly motivated worker who can demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills. You will need to efficiently deal with the enquiries of visitors using the services based within the Visitors’ Centres and provide information, advice and support to the children and families of prisoners.
You will have experience of family support and demonstrate the ability to sign post and refer families to appropriate community based services, with an emphasis on familes with children.
You must have excellent administrative skills and work effectively as part of a team.
This post will:
- be subject to Enhanced DBS and Prison Security Vetting
- Require full compliance with prison rules and regulations
- Require a flexible approach to place of work – ability to travel across a cluster of sites will be essential.
- Require weekend working
