United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Global Emergency Marketing Director

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Global Emergency Marketing Director to join an organisation with ambitious goals for children and a clear strategic plan. This role is based in our central London office near Trafalgar Square, but also co-located with the Global Media Unit in our Farringdon office.

Save the Children is a large federated organization with 29 Members working together to deliver our ambitions for children. We recognize that we have a huge opportunity to increase the effectiveness of our emergency fundraising and marketing globally, by fully integrating our message externally behind powerful compelling integrated campaigns – and to fully leverage our brand at points of high media interest.

To that purpose, as our new Global Emergency Marketing Director, you will be responsible for leading the integration of all emergency communications and marketing to external audiences, including fundraising, brand, media and campaigning. You will set the integrated messaging, and share best practice.

To be suited to this opportunity you will bring experience of having created large scale, successful, high profile integrated campaigns to the mass market; extensive fundraising experience, strong experience within Individual Giving, and previous experience of working across all marketing disciplines; including media, and across many different marketing channels.

On a personal level you’ll have the gravitas and impact to inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders, be an inclusive and confident leader who is able to work in a fast moving environment, and have an unrelenting focus on seeking improvements in cross organizational ways of working.

The role offers a competitive package in the context of the sector.

The organisation

We employ approximately 17,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 60 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise children’s rights and ensure their voices are heard.

We are working towards 3 breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:

  • No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday

  • All children learn from a quality basic education

  • Violence against children is no longer tolerated
