United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Head of Programme Implementation


Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK, with regular overseas travel
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary: £34,000 to £38,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

The successful candidate will lead on the design and implementation of standards, tools, guidelines, systems and practices to improve the implementation and management of programmes and projects and help drive Build Africa’s ambitious growth strategy. By leading on the above, the focus is on providing technical support and guidance to drive quality in project implementation as a means to improve programme quality, impact, growth and sustainability. At the same time, you will provide guidance and support, both remotely and during regular visits, to Build Africa staff in country programmes on all aspects of project management.


You will bring with you extensive experience of programme and project management, partnership working and grant management in an international development context, together with an ability to work across teams in a fast paced and ambitious environment.


This position is offered on a full time contract and will be based in our Tunbridge Wells office. Working from home a proportion of the time will be considered as will a degree of flexitime. Build Africa will also offer a 6% pension contribution in addition to salary.
