Branch Assistant
Albemarle & Bond, Brixton
6 month fixed term contract with potential of becoming permanent


22.5hrs per week – between Monday and Saturday
Salary £14,625- £15,450 during probation (pro rata)
Rising to £15,125 – £15,950 on successful completion of probationary period (pro-rata)

Speedloan Finance Ltd is one of the UK’s largest pawnbrokers and jewellery retailers, operating under the two well-known brands – Albemarle & Bond and Herbert Brown. The Role


Our Branch Assistants play a key role in our business, working as part of a team to deliver outstanding results and contribute to the overall success of our stores.


On a day to day basis you will build relationships with our customers to understand their needs and advise them about our products and services. You will evaluate jewellery and carry out a wide range of retail and financial transactions which will contribute to the branch achievement of compliance, targets and budget control.


You will also actively take part in marketing promotions to drive footfall to the branch and help to keep the branch environment safe, clean and inviting for both staff and customers.


We offer an internal training programme designed to upskill our employees and develop the knowledge and skillset required to be a great asset to the team and embark on the journey of career progression.


The Person


You will have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and an ability to build rapport with a diverse range of customers.


You will be able to demonstrate:


  • First class communication skills

  • Excellent literacy, numeracy & IT capability

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Flair for visual merchandising

Proven retail, customer service or cash handling experience is essential for the role and experience of working within the jewellery or pawnbroking industry would be an advantage.


This role requires candidates to undergo CRB, financial and background checking prior to commencing employment.
