Estates & Building Projects Manager

With the pending retirement of the current post-holder we are looking to recruit an Estates & Building Projects Manager.
The post-holder will work with directors and senior managers in the business to develop a property strategy and specific property development proposals to support and meet business objectives. They will head up the team that takes day-to-day responsibility for the planning and implementation of building, development, alteration, repair and maintenance projects on behalf of each of the operating units. They will also be responsible for the estate management of the company’s operational properties.
The post-holder will have a proven track-record in the healthcare planning and delivery of health-care projects with a good working knowledge of statutory regulations and guidance in relation to the design and construction of healthcare facilities. They will lead and execute a full range of construction project management strategies for existing and future major capital projects, from project start-up in defining content and requirements through to procurement, construction and completion including leading on financial and legal negotiations. The appointed candidate will have excellent interpersonal and management skills, with the ability to gain the confidence and trust of a diverse range of influential stakeholders.
The role is an integral part of the business, running projects from initial land acquisition through to operational hand over. Applicants for this role should have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Healthcare / Estates Management capacity
- Experience in construction methodology, both new build and refurbishment
- Experience in construction project and contract management
- Experience managing multiple capital projects / programmes simultaneously
- Relevant experience managing comparable size teams
- Experience in Project Management PRINCE2 methodology, or similar
- MS Office fluent in word, Excel and Project

Hours: 37.5 per week
