To be instantly considered for an interview, you will need to be a career-minded Maths Graduate who has already spent time in a role where you have worked closely with children. The Academy will be looking for 2:1 graduates or above, although it is not a prerequisite. Crucially though, they want to bring in a Maths Teaching Assistant who has a genuine enthusiasm and energy for teaching and learning, and who understands the caring-yet-firm approach required in Secondary education! The Maths Teaching Assistant Role
In this Maths Teaching Assistant position, you will be working across the whole Academy, aiding learning in the Maths department across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with the aim of bettering the academic performance of last year cohorts. A creative teaching approach runs through the Maths department allowing for true innovation and dynamism whilst teaching responsibly, and you will be expected to aid the teacher, but also to take small groups and go through specific tasks to vary the class up a bit, all whilst keeping your finger on the pulse of the class. Aid in lesson-planning, chip in after-school too, and generally make yourself a valuable team member of the Maths department!
