A great opportunity supporting a charity who focus on supporting those in the BME community to source employment. You will be a social media enthusiast who knows there way around social media and how to generate interesting posts in line with company guidelines.

Access UK is a charitable organisation that was founded in 2014, as a voice for the million or more youths who are currently unemployed in the UK, particularly Black and Minority Ethnic NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training).Our main objective is to help reduce BME youth unemployment, provide employment and training solutions for youth offenders and implement anti-gang initiatives in the community.

A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement.


Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths and English and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.


This Traineeship Opportunity is unwaged.


  • To aid with 1st line support (on call) and on site

  • To help with general IT duties

  • Identify errors, bugs and faults

  • IT help and support

  • Repairing Faults

  • Taking apart and putting together PC’s

Are you eligible?


  • Are you currently not in a job with little or no work experience?

  • Are you aged 16 to 18 and qualified below Level 3 (A level) or aged 19 to 24 and not yet achieved a Level 2 (5 GCSE’s at grade C including maths and English)?

Training to be provided:


The Traineeship opportunity includes work preparation training, maths and English support for those who require it and a high quality work experience placement.


Qualifications:


City & Guilds Level 1 Award in IT Systems Support


Functional Skills English & Maths (if not already achieved GCSE A*-C or Functional Skills Level 2)


Expected duration:


Minimum of 6 weeks


Working hours of programme:


Monday to Friday 9.30 – 4.30 pm


Skills required:


  • Knowledge of social media platforms

  • Good literacy and numeracy

  • Understanding of the challenges the BME community may face when look for employment

  • Team player

  • Punctual

  • Good time management

Qualifications:


No formal qualifications required but an interest to learn new skills.


Future Prospects:


Successful candidates will be considered for further progression with QA Apprenticeships for Level 3 Apprenticeship programmes in:


  • Systems and Networking

  • Software and Web Development

  • Digital Marketing

  • Business Administration
