Assistant/Trainee Principal Designer
Location: London (SE1 0BS)
Salary: £Negotiable – depending on experience

And due to continuing growth we are now lookingto recruit an Assistant/Trainee Principal Designerbased at out central London office, supporting the growth of our business in the London area.


The Role


You will initially be involved in the undertaking of site safety inspections and producing accompanying reports, collating health and safety file information, shadowing experienced members of staff on site visits and at meetings with a view to taking ownership of their own projects after a successful training period.


Eventually you will contribute to and be responsible for the delivery of Principal Designer services, on a range of projects across a variety sectors including housing, education and commercial projects. You will have the ability to manage multiple projects, have an understanding of key hazards typical to building and construction projects and be able to work as an individual and as part of a wider team.


This is an excellent opportunity for a junior construction professional looking to enter the field of construction health and safety.


Experience and Qualifications


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • Min 1 or 2 years experience in construction related profession, ideally trainee site management experience or similar

  • Good IT skills

  • Comfortable undertaking duties as a lone worker

  • Health and safety related experience or qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH / CITB or similar) and an understanding of the requirements of the Construction (design and management) Regulations 2015 would be extremely desirable

The ideal candidate will have both construction and health and safety related experience at an Assistant / Trainee level, however this is not essential and there is the option for the right individual to undertake the Nebosh Construction Certificate qualification after satisfactorily completing their first three months with the company.
