Engineering Manager




Engineering Manager – London – £60,000 – £75,000

A technology business geared towards producing award-winning applications are hiring an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the software engineering team and ensure top class solutions are delivered to the customer base.


Responsibilities:
*Own the software development life cycle (SDLC), including the required tools and systems
*Be responsible for the planning, development, testing, release and support of the platform
*Communicate across functions to drive technical initiatives, both internal and external, from inception to delivery
*Be responsible for the end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical internal and external systems and services
*Be an effective people manager that can lead, mentor, develop, challenge, hire and retain engineers
*Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation of the product and the associated systems and processes
*Ensure the teams adhere to established engineering processes and best practice


Essential Experience:
*Experience of each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle, ideally from a mobile-focused environment
*Ability to design and adopt methodologies, tools and processes, and to implement and roll these out across the organisation
*Successfully work with remote teams on a daily basis
*Capable of technical deep-dives into architecture, code and test reviews, but also contribute effectively in strategic decisions with the executive team
*Good communicator that is able to understand different viewpoints, can negotiate, resolve, plan and prioritise highly complex technical tasks
*Understanding of mobile application development tools, mobile systems and their ecosystems.


Desirable Experience:
*Development experience with at least one mobile device platform (e.g. iOS/Android/Windows, …)
*Experience Working with Agile/SCRUM, DevOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery models
*Experience with system automation, particularly in software testing
*Comfortable working on Linux-based systems
*Game Development experience
