Visiting Lecturers - Foundation Year - Psychology


Due to the popularity of our existing extended degree programme, we are seeking visiting lectures to teach foundation year (level three) modules in the following subject areas:  Business Studies, Technology and Computing, Life Sciences, and Psychology. We currently have over 200 applications for next year’s intake and a thriving collaborative partnership with an external off-site provider.   


In addition to studying maths and English on the foundation year, students also take two discipline specific modules, plus complete an extended project that enables them to integrate their knowledge in preparation for progression to Level 4 studies in their chosen subject.  We are looking for experienced lecturers/tutors from a Higher Education, or Further Education, background who are confident in teaching and who have a passion and commitment to deliver an excellent learning experience for students:


  • Lecturers in psychology specialisms:  Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Scientific Thinking

The roles will involve delivering seminars, providing subject specific academic guidance, as well as supervising student projects, participating in appropriate administrative procedures and attending, as appropriate, course management meetings and exam boards. In addition there may be a requirement to act as module convener.


The current rate of pay is £46.95 per contact hour, and this hourly rate reflects the requirement for preparation, marking, and taking leave. 


You will need to be available to start on 1st September for induction. Teaching starts on 19th September running through to June 2017.
