Administrator - Researcher



An accountancy firm in the City are now looking for an Administrator to help the Specialist Investigations team with contentious insolvency matters.


The role will focus on research projects but some time may be split between administrative duties for the team, and managing case work.


Overall purpose:


  1. To ensure that each assignment is carried out efficiently and effectively;

  2. The principles of good professional advice as well as relevant statutory requirements are adhered to;

  3. Creditors and other interested parties receive a quality service in all respects.

Your responsibilities:


  1. To carry out duties assigned by the Manager or Partner efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with the firm’s procedures and relevant statutory and extra-statutory obligations.

  2. To communicate any problems in complying with those instructions, or any contentious issues identified, to the Manager or Partner immediately.

  3. To undertake all assigned research investigations to the highest standards, and with appropriate awareness of the often conflicting needs of directors, contributories, and creditors.

  4. To help to ensure a cost-effective administration, and where relevant, realisation of assets by maintaining records promptly and efficiently.

  5. To ensure a prompt and appropriate reaction to all correspondence, telephone calls and interviews.

  6. To treat creditors, employees and other interested parties with respect and courtesy.

  7. To record time spent on a regular basis, and to ensure that time charged is consistent with the proper performance of the work.

  8. To clear all review points raised on the work undertaken and update working papers and conclusions where appropriate.

  9. To advance the level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses.

  10. Attend staff meetings and training as required.

You will need:


  1. Experience in a similar role

  1. Minimum B in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, and 280 UCAS points from 3 A levels.

  1. Strong IT skills and an enquiring mind coupled with good report writing skills.

  1. Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.

  1. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial outlook.

  1. A calm approach and the ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
