Tutor position in Psychology

We are seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Tutor position in Psychology to support the School of Psychology’s goal of strengthening our programme offerings on Wellington campuses for the 2016 year. This will be a fixed term appointment for one year at 0.5 FTE. Candidates should have career interests and demonstrated experience in tutoring Psychology at undergraduate level. The successful applicant will also have a commitment to developing the life of the School on the campus and supporting student engagement and success.


Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Psychology, with tertiary experience in teaching and assessment. A collaborative approach to promoting the School and supporting students will also be a priority. This position will require the successful candidate to teach a first year paper on the Wellington campus, under supervision. As part of Massey University’s commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, the School of Psychology incorporates a bicultural focus into its programmes.


The School offers degree programmes to doctoral level in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and in the College of Science. BA students can major in Psychology, Business Psychology, or Educational Psychology, and a four-year BA/BBS is offered.


It is expected this position will be available from February 2016. Appointment will be on the Tutor scale at a level comparative to qualifications and experience.
