This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to join a Horizon 2020 funded research project. The PreventIT project will develop interventions based on the Lifestyle integrated Functional Exercise (LiFE) programme, in which balance and strength training is embedded within everyday activities. We will adapt LiFE to make it suitable for younger older people and then develop a version delivered in a traditional manner (aLiFE) and a version which is delivered using ICT (eLiFE). Once developed, these interventions will be tested in pilot and feasibility studies.
You will work as part of the team developing the motivational and usability components of the project. You will thus participate in literature reviews and studies using surveys, consensus methods and focus groups and will assist in the recruitment of participants to studies assessing the utility of the techniques developed to be implemented onto mobile technologies.
You will join a lively multi-professional research environment at the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work and work under the supervision of Professor Chris Todd. You will be hold a PhD in an appropriate field and have experience in conducting research with older people, fall prevention and/or activity promotion and the use of ICTs.
